Welcome to the website for the District Awards for Teacher Excellence (D.A.T.E.) Technical Assistance Center.

Run by the Institute for Public School Initiatives, this website serves as the primary online source for information, tools, and resources to support D.A.T.E. grantees, policymakers, state officials, and district professionals with the design and implementation of performance award programs.

Since the creation of D.A.T.E. in 2006, Texas has spent nearly $550 million to allow districts to design their own strategic compensation programs. For the 2010-2011 school year, 307 districts will be implementing a program. The districts represent over half of Texas' student and teacher population.

Fall Cycle 2 Program Implementation Workshops

The Technical Assistance team has partnered with the Regional Service Centers to provide implementation workshops for Cycle 2 districts. These will be held at the service centers. For a schedule of the workshops, go to our upcoming workshops page.

Programmatic and Budget Amendment "Cheat Sheet"

It is never too early in the implementation year to consider what changes need to be made to your program. To assist with the amendment process, we have created an amendment "cheat sheet" that offers a few scenarios, the type of amendment required, and other management considerations that go with the amendment. The "cheat sheet" is available for download here.

As a reminder, Cycle 1, Year 2 budget amendments are due on Nov. 29. It is essential that you file an amendment in order to fully use your contingency funds.

2010 D.A.T.E. Summer Institute
